Name: Rulph
Class: MonkAlignment: Chaotic Neutral
Background: Hermit
Bio
Once a devoted brother, Rulph trained in meditation, martial discipline, and spiritual equilibrium deep within the Obsidian Cliffs Monastery. For years, he followed the teachings of harmony and inner peace, but he could not ignore the dark whispers that clung to the ancient relics sealed beneath the temple’s sanctum.
While the elders preached reverence, Rulph sensed corruption. The artifacts blades from fallen gods, urns sealed with demonic flame, relics of forgotten blood cults did not bring balance. They tilted it. When his protests were dismissed, Rulph did the unthinkable: he shattered three of the monastery’s most sacred relics, burned the scrolls that protected them, and broke the silent vow with screams of defiance.
Declared apostate and hunted by his own order, Rulph now walks the world not as a guardian of peace, but as a force of chaotic rebalancing. He seeks to destroy what he calls “the false weights of power”—cursed items, manipulative clergy, secret hordes of magic anything that perverts the natural flow of life. His methods are brutal. Violence, to Rulph, is not evil; it is necessary.
Personality Traits
- I reject sacred traditions and question all authority, especially those hiding behind ritual and silence.
- I believe discipline is for those too weak to trust their instincts.
Ideals
- Balance through Action: To correct a world out of alignment, I must tip the scales with force, if needed.
- Destruction is Purification: Better to destroy a corrupt relic than let it poison minds for generations.
Bonds
- I still hear the whispers of the shattered relics in my dreams. They haven’t forgiven me.
- I will never allow another monastery to hoard evil under the guise of “protection.”
Flaws
- I strike first when I sense imbalance, talk is too slow and often lies.
- I sometimes mistake order for oppression, and peace for stagnation.
